Walk With Jesus collects only what it needs to work. Here's what that includes:

We use the information collected to:

• Run the app's features: suggest Bible verses, write reflections, personalized reminders and monthly insights, and turn handwriting and recordings into text
• Apply usage limits and subscriptions: count requests and check whether you have Pro
• Keep the app stable: diagnose crashes, monitor performance and fix bugs
• Improve the app: understand which features are used
• Measure our ads: learn which Apple Ads campaign, if any, led to an install
• Send reminders: at the times you choose
• Communicate with you: only if you gave us your email

We never sell your data. We never share your journal content with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

3. AI and Your Journal Entries

Some features send what you made to an AI model. Nothing is sent until you accept in the app, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings › Privacy › Sharing with AI. Without it, these features do not run. Walk With Jesus is for people 18 and older.

What is sent, and when

Who receives it

Each request passes through our server (hosted by Supabase), which keeps none of its content, to OpenRouter, which routes it to an AI model company.

Which AI companies

We only use companies that OpenRouter lists as Zero Data Retention and whose terms allow writing about faith and health. Today these are:

Every request is also covered by OpenRouter's Terms of Service, and OpenRouter lists each host's terms on its own site.

This list changes when we change models, and we update it here when we do.

What is kept

• Text (entries, the words of recordings, everything in the table except images and audio): no one stores it after your answer comes back. Every request requires Zero Data Retention, our server enforces it, and on our OpenRouter account prompt logging and OpenRouter's use of inputs and outputs are off. OpenRouter may keep records where the law requires it.
• Audio and handwriting images: OpenRouter's own privacy policy allows it to keep these "for abuse detection, security, billing, or legal compliance".
• Our server: a count of your requests, under your account ID, to apply usage limits, and a log line for each request saying what kind it was, which model answered and how long it took. Never what you wrote.
• Training: nothing you send is used to train AI.

What we can promise about others

OpenRouter processes this data for us under its Data Processing Agreement, which has it delete inputs and outputs promptly after generating an answer, except where the law requires or to address malicious use. OpenRouter routes our requests only to companies it designates Zero Data Retention; it does not guarantee their compliance, and we cannot either.

4. iCloud Sync

Walk With Jesus keeps your journal, your profile and your settings in your private iCloud, using Apple iCloud, so they follow you to your other Apple devices. This happens whenever you're signed in to iCloud. The app has no switch of its own.

Your data is encrypted in transit and in iCloud. Apple holds the keys to it unless you turn on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, in which case only your trusted devices do. Journal Lock keeps the journal closed to anyone else on your device. You can learn more about iCloud security and Apple's Privacy Policy.

To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Walk With Jesus in your device's Settings › [your name] › iCloud. Deleting the app does not delete its iCloud data; you can delete it in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Storage.

5. Notifications

Walk With Jesus schedules its reminders on your device, at the times you choose. We do not send notifications from a server.

• Daily reminders are generic: "Take a moment to reflect and write in your journal today."
• Personalized reminders, while reminders are on and you've given permission for AI, are written by AI from your latest entry (section 3). They can mention its verse and its themes, and like any notification they can show on your lock screen.
• If you leave an entry unfinished, the app may remind you to come back to it.

You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings › Journal Reminders, or in your device's notification settings. Withdrawing permission for AI leaves only the generic reminders.

6. In-App Purchases

All payments are processed through the Apple App Store. Walk With Jesus never collects, sees, or stores your payment information: credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank details.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. It receives your anonymous account ID, your purchases and subscription status from Apple, and our ad-measurement ID (section 7). Apple's handling of payment data is governed by its own Privacy Policy.

7. Analytics and Diagnostics

We use Apple App Store Connect for aggregated usage and crash statistics. Apple shares these only from people who agreed to share analytics with app developers. You can change this in your device's Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

We use PostHog for analytics and crash reports. It receives:

• which features you use, and when;
• choices you make in the app, such as the mood you pick for an entry and the Bible references the app suggested;
• your device model, iOS version, app version and language;
• your IP address, from which it works out an approximate location;
• crash reports and short error messages.

All of this is linked to your anonymous account ID. PostHog never receives the words of your entries, prayers or recordings, your name, or your email. We do not record your screen.

We use AppSprint to learn which Apple Ads campaign, if any, led to an install. It receives Apple's ad attribution for your install, an identifier for your device that only our apps share, app sessions, and an approximate location from your IP address. We do not ask for, and do not receive, your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).

8. Third-Party Access

These companies process data for us, each only to provide its part of the app:

Beyond them, we may share your information only:

• As required by law: to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process
• To protect rights and safety: when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others

We will never share your journal entries with any third party for advertising, marketing, or data brokerage purposes.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

• Journal entries and your profile: on your device and in your iCloud for as long as you keep them. Delete an entry in the app at any time. To delete everything, delete the app and its iCloud data (section 4).
• What is sent to AI: see section 3, "What is kept".
• Request counts: kept while you use the app, to apply usage limits.
• Email and name: until you ask us to delete them.
• Analytics and crash data: kept by PostHog for as long as we need them to understand and fix the app.
• Feedback: kept by UserJot until you ask us to delete it.

To ask us to delete what we and our providers hold, email info@rationalbit.com. Your account is anonymous, so we may ask for details that help us find your data, such as the email you gave us. We will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

We send your entries to AI only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time in Settings › Privacy › Sharing with AI; withdrawing it does not affect what was sent before. We process the rest of your data to provide the app you asked for, and for analytics and diagnostics because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@rationalbit.com.

11. Your Choices

• AI: withdraw your permission at any time in Settings › Privacy › Sharing with AI. Nothing more is sent to AI until you accept again.
• Reminders: turn them off in the app's Settings › Journal Reminders, or in your device's notification settings.
• iCloud: turn it off for Walk With Jesus in your device's iCloud settings (section 4).
• Apple's analytics: turn them off in your device's Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
• Email updates: ask us at info@rationalbit.com to remove you.
• Everything else: uninstalling the app stops all collection, and you can ask us to delete what we hold (section 9).

12. Minimum Age

Walk With Jesus is for people 18 and older, in every country. No one under 18 may use it, with or without a parent's or guardian's permission. When you give permission for AI in the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older.

If we learn that someone under 18 is using the app, we will delete the data we hold about them. If you believe someone under 18 is using it, please contact us at info@rationalbit.com.

13. Security Measures

We take the confidentiality of your information seriously. Walk With Jesus employs physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the data we process and maintain.

All data transmitted between the app and external services is encrypted in transit. The keys to our AI and Bible text services are kept on our server, not in the app. Journal Lock uses Face ID, Touch ID or Optic ID, or your passcode, to keep your journal closed to anyone else; your biometric data never leaves your device and is never seen by us.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy, and we will change the date at the top of this page when we do. We update the list of AI companies in section 3 whenever it changes. If we change what is sent to AI or who receives it in any other way, the app will ask for your permission again before sending anything.

This privacy policy is effective as of October 10, 2026.

15. Your Consent

By using Walk With Jesus, you agree to the processing of your information as this Privacy Policy describes. Sending your entries to AI is separate: it happens only after you accept in the app, and stops when you withdraw that permission.
